wifi printer connection goes off automatically

Hello Experts,
Our customer has a printer HP Officejet pro 8610, as a network printer connected via wifi.
Its work fine, but if the printer is left on without using, after a while it appears off to the computer
even though the printer is on.
The user is force to go to the printer turn if off and on again.
How can we control this ?
The nerwork has stations using windows 7 and 8.1
Regards,

It is a remote printer... I am accessing the printer using teamviewer... I will have to wait three hours for somebody to do this...
But definitely I will do it and come back to this site in a few hours.
Thank you very much.

You can try to download HP Print & Scan Doctor, which is a diagnostic tool that would help to troubleshoot and guide you through it from a computer

I don't have your printer model, but another HP with wireless, and I assume the setup is similar.

Logon to the printer's web management tool from a connected PC, then undeer "System" select "Energy Settings".  If I were you I would setup a sleep delay and a power down delay, as that is more ecological and should be no problem. Just make sure that you have enabled the "Wake on these Events" option, particularly select "Wireless Job" and "Lan Job". I'd also enable the others you have there.. That should make sure that whenever you want to print or do something with the printer it should wake up automatically even when it is powered off. This works fine with my printer and it always turns on when needed.
