How to install .net 4.5.1 stand alone (not in-place upgrade)

Hi Experts,

My currently environment is Windows 2008 R2 with SP1 and I have below frame work installed already.

I have some applications running within above framework.

And I need to install 4.5 or above for another application, but I what I found is all the .net 4.5.x versions are in-place upgrade for 4.0 which has ended up with issues with the rest of application deployed there.

So how can I installed 4.5.x stand alone ?

Thanks a lot for your time !

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think you can't do that, but you can in config file specify what version of .net framework should application use. Link

Microsoft has supplied an offline installer for .NET Framework 4.5 and for your server.

However. you are best to install it via Windows Updates.
