Enabling SIOC in vmware 5.5

We are considering enabling SIOC in a VMware 5.5 environment.  On the SAN the LUNs are on a single RAID 5 pool.  This pool has 10 LUNs, and each LUN has a single datastore on it.  We planning to enable SIOC on each datastore in the pool.  Also we are using SRM to protect the production VMs.

So far our research about SIOC has been  very favorable.  The only negative finding has been this vm article about SRM and SIOC.

SRM Planned Migration fails with error: Cannot unmount datastore [NAME] which has VMs on it (2032365)

I asking for advice about enabling SIOC.
Would like to hear about problems experienced with SIOC.

Thanks for your help.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We do not have any issues with SIOC on any of our implementations.

Check with your SAN vendor.
SOIC shouldn't be used if the storage back end is doing a lot of auto tiering if I recall, as it can have a negative impact
