SharePoint 2013 Office 365 Work Flows & Form

I have a number of work flows to create from pretty simple & straight forward to complex.  This is just the beginning since we are just getting our SharePoint up and running.  My question(s) is how easy is it to learn SharePoint Designer and how complex of workflows can you build in it?  I have heard Microsoft is stopping the support of InfoPath and that is what I was going to use to create forms with, but I don't want to go down that path if it is going to be dropped.  What else can a developer use?  Also, does any one have any recommendations for a third party workflow & forms designer package?  I have looked into Nintex and was wondering if any one has any experience with it, good or bad?

Thank you in advance for any and all information.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's true that Infopath has been deprecated, however it has years of support left if you have no other choices. InfoPath is pretty easy to learn in my experience.

SharePoint Designer Workflows are good for simple cases, but frankly I've worked in organizations that tried to go that little further, and were totally stuck. Nothing too ambitious either, but the tool simply couldn't provide it.

As such we decided on a commercial WF offering. I assessed both Nintex and K2. In the case of the business I was working for K2 was the clear winner, however any assessment is organization specific and you might reach a different conclusion.

Looking at the current Microsoft roadmap for Forms and Workflow, I would recommend a commercial solution every time. I hope MS get their act together on this story, but they haven't yet...
