Windows servers under VM 6 lose network.

We are facing the following issue:

We have a VM6 ESXi host, running, 5 windows 2012 and 2012R2 servers. Every now and then, some of the servers are losing their network connection and the only way to restore the network is by logging to vCenter and disabling and enabling the Ethernet of the hosted vm's. After that it works for a couple of days and then we have the same issue again.

Please assist.

Thank you

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We have seen this on ESXi 6.0, it's a bug.

But also, check you are using the VMXNET3 interfaces for your VMs. Do not use the E1000 legacy interface, this is just required for installation.

Bug that I have also experienced.  Seems to be more stable if you use VMXNET3 interfaces other than VMXNET2 or legacy.
