Batch File Won't Run

I've got a simple one line command that changes the file name of text files to add "TB."

FOR /r "C:\tempagencyftp" %a in (*.txt) DO REN "%~a" "TB%~nxa"

This works using the command prompt, but it will not run as a .bat file. I've tried adding PAUSE to the end to see if I'm getting any feedback but that's not working either. I've been searching for days on the subject of batch files not working and haven't found anything helpful. Any ideas?

In a batch script, you need to double up on the percent signs for the loop variable:
FOR /r "C:\tempagencyftp" %%a in (*.txt) DO REN "%%~a" "TB%%~nxa"

What does it display when run as a BAT file. Mp lease post the actual bat file here.

Also, keep in mind the syntax changes slightly for FOR statements in BAT scripts, should be:

FOR /r "C:\tempagencyftp" %%a in (*.txt) DO REN "%%~a" "TB%%~nxa"

Thanks. Doubling all the percentage signs was all I needed. Works like a champ.
