Dear Experts,

I am not looking for technical config type solution as there are enough material use . I am looking at this technology for practical use and what is needed to have a DMVPN built in real world. Lets assume I have a datacenter room and I have a router and multiple branch locaions are connected to the internet DSL connections. In this scenario I am not using a single cloud but just different ISPs providing DSL connections.

In another scenario I want to understand how to create a DMVPN tunnel using a single ISP cloud.

I really need someone with practical experience on this as this is critical for me to understand. The books have too much non clear content as I have seen. If anyone can suggest a book with real world implementations will be great.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

So in the old IPsec world it didn't matter if all the branches were on different ISPs or were all on the same ISP right?  We simply had to manually configure the tunnels.  To do this we needed to know the public IP address of the peer to set it up correctly, specific our encryption and authentication methods and define what traffic should flow on this tunnel.  It didn't matter where on the internet it was located as long as we knew the public ip address of the peer and could route to it.

DMVPN is basically the same idea, except we don't have to manually build each tunnel.    The tunnels are dynamically built.  Again it doesn't matter if it is one cloud or many.

Here is link to a blog that discuss the dynamics of the DMVPN.

Will this work in an MPLS CLOUD?
Ken BooneNetwork ConsultantCommented:
It will but the question is why?  In an MPLS cloud you have a private path through the cloud to your other locations.  Run some type of routing protocol across your MPLS cloud and every site has access to every other site through the MPLS cloud.  No need to run DMVPN over it typically unless you have a requirement to encrypt the traffic.
