Exchange 2010 SP2 - Change 'from' email address

We have Exchange 2010 SP2, with the following Roles:  Hub Transport, Client Access and Mailbox Roles.  (No Edge Transport).  I have a request for emails that are generated from our monitoring environment to have the 'from' address changed to our support email address, which is sent to our external clients.
For example:
Email account generated from server:  monitoring@server.domain.net
Change the from to show as:  support@domain.com
In looking at the Transport Rules on the Exchange server, there is no place to do this.  I looked at the AddressRewriteEntry command, but since I do not have the Edge Transport role installed I don't think I have this as an option.
Thoughts?
Thank you,

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is true there is no predicates in transport rule. I would recommend configure your monitoring environment to send e-mail using support e-mail address.

May i know which Monitoring application is used in your env.

Else introduce Edge transport server or check if you are using any gateway and have such feature.

I'm told from our monitoring team that the monitoring software sends the emails using the server name in the email address from field and they don't have a way to change this address.  CA Spectrum.

First - Exchange 2010 SP2 is no longer supported. You need to upgrade to Exchange 2010 SP3 with the latest rollup.

What you are talking about is header rewriting. That isn't possible without the Edge role or a third party tool. I would go with the third party tool myself, as I couldn't justify the cost of the additional Windows and Exchange licence.

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

We are looking to upgrade our Exchange to SP3 within the next 2 months.  I agree with the additional licensing costs/setup for Transport Role.  Do you know of any good 3rd party tools?
Thank you,

Next two months?
Sp2 hasn't been supported for TWO YEARS. I wouldn't wait that long. You are exposed to any number of security risks.

Lots of choices for address rewriting. I would check whether any utilities you already have offer the feature. I haven't used one to make a recommendation.
