I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We use Acronis ABR and archive the images onto a large NAS as well as offsite monthly rotation.  Your question is very general.  Perhaps it's easier if you can explain of what you're trying to achieve.

Our requirement is to create few images (Win7, Win8, Win7 developer , Win7 standard etc) and use them to image the new and existing laptops. The images should create unique SID's and we should be able to update the image(Add and delete other software's to image)

We use Acronis Snapdeploy for that.

Not sure on the "adding software" except in the sense, restore image, add/remove software, re-master image.  It does have to feature of Machine-Specific, so one image for Engineering, one for Sales, one for Accounting etc. is easily achieved.

In our scenario we want to bundle OS,office, other necessary software's together and use the images on to our laptops . DELL KACE is on of the option but I wanted to find out if there are any other better options?
Some of my friends in the industry uses Norton Ghost for your specific purpose.  Create a standard image then add apps into it.  Like Anthony stated that you can use Acronis Snap Deploy too.

From my experience the Acronis product is better and cheaper than Norton.  There is also Smart Deploy which claim a faster deloyment time than the other.

Here is the description of the differences: http://windowsitpro.com/windows/3-disk-imaging-solutions-redux

I suggest you give Acronis Snap Deploy, Norton Ghost, etc a try, free trial available.
