Monitoring Exchange users response time

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible with Exchange to monitor how much time it takes for users to reply to an email and export it?

One simple way would be to use get=messagetrackinglog to get the time of delivery for the original message and then the time of reply for the reply message, It would be manual and you would have to do the math.

Lets say john@doe.com send an email to sally@doe.com and then sally replied.

Get-messagetrackinglog -sender john@doe.com -recipients sally@doe.com -eventid Deliver | select timestamp  will get you all of the info about the original message.

Get-messagetrackinglog -recipients john@doe.com -sender sally@doe.com -eventid Send | select timestamp will get you the time of reply.  

You can also use the -start and -end parameters to narrow in on a specific time frame.

There is nothing built-in natively to Exchange that allows you to monitor how fast a message will be sent.

There are also a lot of variables when you are taking about sending an email as well.
- attachment size
- exchange load on server (when the message is sent)
- number of recipients you are sending to
- anti-spam scanning /virus scanning
- server resources CPU/RAM
etc...

So all of the above can determine how long it will take for someone to send a message. If you want a product that can monitor Exchange completely I would recommend something like Exchange Reporter by Lepide Software.
