Update View for both Critical and Security Updates?‏

I am unable to get a view in WSUS that shows me both Critical and Security, for the purposes of easier manual approving of both categories.

When I'm in the Update Services console and select either "Critical Updates" or "Security" updates  in the updates view, I see dozens listed and "not approved" for "failed or needed" status.

security shows fine
I created a new custom view called "Critical and Security", hoping I can have a single view to show all Critical and Security updates .
However when I choose this View, no updates appear, and the Approval/Status is the same as when I click on Critical or Security specific views.

I think this is a bug... in your approval field for your custom view change to any except declined status any....wait for update.... then change back.   this worked for me.

It appears doing that triggers updates to show up. However it says (54 updates of 6608 shown, 8290 total).

If I click over to just Critical Updates view, it says (153 updates of 8290 shown, 8290 total). As does clicking only Security Updates view.

So there is some kind of discrepancy or misconfiguration I am not sure.

Strange... I think it is a bug for sure...nothing you are doing wrong.     In my case changing the filter options fixed this issue.   The other thing I can think of is an indexing issue.   in which case if you can set the filter to show all updates then filter again that may resolve.

Interestingly, the "Critical Updates" and "Security Updates" view each actually show more classifications than just "Critical Updates" or "Security Updates".

For some reason they both also list Definition Updates, Security Updates, Service Packs, Update Rollups and Updates.

Counting them combined they equal 54, thus my custom view of "Critical and Security" totaling to 54 updates.

So it is the default Critical Updates and Security Updates view that is misconfigured or bugged

That may be ... I was just comparing the totals in my case.     You might want to check if there is an update for the WSUS service itself.
