Print out field names for all tables in database

Is there a way to print out to a file the fields within all the tables of my database.

I know I could use Desc to list all the fields in a single table but is there a way to do this for all the tables at once.

I notice that using the Desc option does not include the comments field, is there a way to do this?

Hi!

This should give you all columns of all tables in a given database.

SELECT TABLE_NAME,COLUMN_NAME, ORDINAL_POSITION, DATA_TYPE, IS_NULLABLE, COLUMN_DEFAULT
  FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS
  WHERE table_schema = 'my_db_name'
  order by TABLE_NAME, ORDINAL_POSITION
