Issue After Upgrading to RDP 8.0

I am using Windows 7 and upgraded to RDP 8.0 on both my local and remote machines following the procedure outlined here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2013/04/09/get-the-best-rdp-8-0-experience-when-connecting-to-windows-7-what-you-need-to-know.aspx

However, now when I try to connect I end up with the following error: The connection was denied because the user account is not authorized for remote login.

How can I solve this?

Did you have  hotfix 2574819 installed?  That is a prerequisite.

I have RDP version 6 installed on my Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 machines and it works perfectly well.

Yes I did install KB2574819. I am having a problem with RDP version 8, what does version 6 have anything to do with this?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
RDP 8 is not the standard version of RDP for Windows 7 or 8.  RDP 8 comes with a list of issues a mile long.

You might try RDP 8.1 which fixes some connection reliability issues.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2592687#bookmark-known%20issues actually indicates the issue I am having an the solution:

Local administrators who are not members of the Remote Desktop Users group cannot sign in by using a Remote Desktop Connection client.

Issue
After RDP 8.0 is enabled, local administrators who are not a member of the Remote Desktop Users group cannot sign in.

Resolution
Add local administrator users to the Remote Desktop Users group.
