Migrating Global.asax

Im migrating an older version of ASP.Net 2003 to 2102 .NET 4 manually file by file. Everything looked good but Im getting an error with my Global.asax file. Where it defines the class it is saying that the word
Public Class Global
'keword is not an invalid identifier' error
What am I doing wrong here?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Should be: public class Global not Public Class Global.

Here's a brand spanking new global.asax.cs entry:

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Optimization;
using System.Web.Routing;
using System.Web.Security;
using WebApplication1;

namespace WebApplication1
{
    public class Global : HttpApplication
    {
        void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs on application startup
            BundleConfig.RegisterBundles(BundleTable.Bundles);
            AuthConfig.RegisterOpenAuth();
            RouteConfig.RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes);
        }

        void Application_End(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs on application shutdown

        }

        void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs when an unhandled error occurs

        }
    }
}
