First, that version of Acronis is not for Server 2008. It's a home version intended for desktops. It is not intended for Active Directory or a server related backup.

Here is the doc on that:

Second, if you turn off UAC, it may run but remember it will probably not run properly because it's not intended for a server operating system. If it does run properly, I would expect the restore to run properly for the same reason.

If you want to back it up and don't want to buy the server version, run Windows Server Backup. it comes free with server 2008.

That version of Acronis is not for active directory. If you are logged into the domain, it won't work.

Log in locally on that PC (not into the domain), and then install Acronis. Turn User Access Control off and then try the backup.

You need to install the server version on your 2008 server and within Acronis backup, push the agent to that Pc and then run the backup of that Pc.

Very simular to this Q/A from the Acronis site. the only exception is your backing up a physical Win 7 Pc, not a VM:
Q: Can Acronis Backup (Advanced) for Windows Server/PC licenses be used to protect a virtual machine?
A: Yes. You can use a Server/PC license to do agent-based backup, when the agent is installed inside the VM.
