"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is the Get Windows 10 update and it was just reissued (so you could permanently hide the icon).

If you have not downloaded, just hide the update. I do not think there is any need to install this particular update, but if you hide the update, other updates can proceed.

Go to WSUS and decline the update

This way no one will get it

You can not block updates from WSUS only way to stop updates from downloading is to stop the sync

Just decline it

HI Jonh,

Every update is downloaded using WSUS because of this, must be blocked. I do not want  only  hide it

Did you decline the update in WSUS?  That was suggested earlier as well.

Installing it is no harm either. You do not have to acknowledge the update to Windows 10 request.

So if Decline does not work, just allow it to install.
It doesn't matter even if it gets installed on your systems. PC's that are domain Members, which in a WSUS environment is the case, don't get the upgrade message. Besides that, also OS's that are Volume licenses or activated through KMS won't get the message, and in a business environment you'd be likely that you are using those licenses.

But if WSUS doesn´t sync this KB yet? I couldn´t  decline the KB at this point, correct?
Who cares? Even if the KB were installed on the PC's, it won't make any difference as the upgrade flag won't appear anyway on the PC's it is installed on. It only shows up on PC's that aren't joined to a Domain (Workgroup PC's), and there WSUS would be out of the picture. It also only shows on OS's that qualify for the free upgrade, and not any volume license PC's etc.

With the newest update, the GWX icon can be permanently hidden and stay hidden. The Windows 10 install MUST be approved. It is really a non-issue. Just let it happen and move on.
