Exchange 2010 Retention Policy not working
I am testing exchange 2010 retention policies, I started off by creating a retention policy tag called empty deleted items, tag type "deleted items" and age limit was only set to 1 day, action was permanently delete. Then I created the retention policy called empty deleted items and after one day nothing was deleted. I found that the policy applied to a test mailbox by running :
Get-Mailbox user | select retentionpolicy
It came back with the policy that I created.
How else can I troubleshoot this?

Yes sorry I thought this cmdlet made that clear.
Get-Mailbox user | select retentionpolicy
I did apply the tag to a retention policy. I only applied it to a test user mailbox and after one day the deleted items were not emptied.
The Rentention tag was set for one day for deleted items as a test and then added to the retention policy. I did it via emc not shell.
