IPHONE/IPAD Local Host File possibility

Our organization need to do some DNS related testing using the Apple Iphone / Ipad IOS device. Anyone knows on an Apple iPhone platform is it possible to use a Local Host File just like the Windows OS or a Local DNS service with a predefined testing DNS A record. This is to help us to enable testing on the IOS device DNS resolution while no need to alter or create any Public Internet DNS record on a public exposed DNS server.

Your technical advice is much appreciated.

ASKER

I understand if I jailbreak the Apple IOS device, I could gain the superior privilege for the host file amendments. If I do not use jailbreak method, can I use an external proxy server/services to accomplish my task.

Thanks for your prompt reply in advance.

Regards
Patrick
In the Wifi settings, click on the wifi network you want to connect to, then on the "i" in the circle to get full info. Scroll down to the DNS settings. You can delete the default ones and replace them with a DNS server of your choosing.
