SharePoint Foundation

A member of our congregation is trying to upload a file to SharePoint but is getting the following error:
List does not exist.

The page you have selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.
We have SharePoint Foundation installed on our server.  He is trying to upload from his laptop using Windows 8.1.  I have tried uploading from my computer using his ID and it works fine.  He is also accessing it from outside the network through the Internet.  Does anyone have a clue what is causing this error and how to fix it?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What version of SharePoint are you using?
Do you mean document library or list?  Document libraries are meant for documents.

Did you successfully upload outside the network?
Bill2802AV/IT TechAuthor Commented:
We are using SharePoint 2010 Foundation.  I mean document libraries for documents.

I was on the network not the Internet when I was able to upload.  I will try from home tonight and see what I get.

You should give that a try.  He may not have access to the network.
Bill2802AV/IT TechAuthor Commented:
I tried from home using his ID and got the same error message.  So it is something having to do with uploading from the Internet.

Yes, he does, but I have unique permissions on this page.  I have changed the permissions to "inherit from parent" because I am not getting this error message on the home page.  I will try it at home again and see if that fixes it.

Whatever group has access to the library, make sure he is in the appropriate one.
Bill2802AV/IT TechAuthor Commented:
He is an owner of the site.  But from the Internet I am still unable to upload anything to the library.  I have changed the permissions so that they are inherited, I have look at various options, but none have worked in relation to the permissions.  It tuns out it is not only uploading items to the library but trying to do anything from the Internet I get this error code.
IsaacSharePoint Client Side DeveloperCommented:
Is he able to get access to the site at all outside the network?
If so, can he upload to other libraries?

No, I solved the problem in that we went over to Office 365 and are using the SharePoint on this site.  I was not able to solve the problem on our server.
