How do I know (test) what kind of attack was made in a website (after the attack). Eg. it was for SQL injection or other.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If it was a test, the tester should have followed up with you on how they performed the attack (and SHOULD have included how they'd fix it). If it was an attack by a malicious party, try and recreate it. Or hire a penetration tester to find the vulnerabilities and suggest remediation.
