hot swap hard drive -- removal time ?

I have a replacement drive for
the one that is blinking ORANGE.

I assume there is NO limit on how long I can keep the slot empty
since it will take me about 10 minutes to remove the hard drive's
bezel and put it on the new drive, correct ?

I always purchased spares with the bezel,
but this time it came without a bezel.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, this is correct. As soon as the controller sees the new drive it will accept it in case the controller supports this. If not you will need to initiate it from ACU (array configuration and management utility).

No, no time limit.  You should do this as quickly as possible as if another drive goes, you will have data loss.
