Is it possible to get attachments stored in a database blob to then render in an SSRS report?

Hi Experts is it possible to get attachments stored in a database blob to then appear in an SSRS report?

If yes is it better to use word or pdf.

Many thanks,

Just a thought ... why?

If you want the reports to generated based on available data, then keep them as SSRS reports.
If you want the reports numbers to never change, the store as a .pdf on the file system.

Hi Jim,

Sorry I was not very clear with my question. I have a database which is populated from another application. One of the details captured are attachments of word and pdf stored in a blob.
I need to create a report which will return a bunch of other details plus return the Word/Pdf document users of the application have added. I don't want to have a link but add the actual document. Is that possible?
Many thanks,

I haven't done this ever, so I have no personal experience but here is a reference for embedding PDFs into SSRS output. Note it requires a custom CLR function. This article is dated 2009.
