How to change a Windows Server 2012 R2 Active Directory Domain Controller server name

Hi Guys,
I have just created a new Windodws Server 2012 R2 and installed the AD DS role, so right now I have a working Active Directory Domain Controller server.
Also I have activated the license we bought for this server.

It so happens that they have asked me to change the name of the server.

Can somebody please tell me what are the possible issues when changing the name of a domain controller server?

How should I proceed?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If there are any apps/services hard coded to the old DC name they will need to be updated, doesn't sound like there are but just something to be aware of.

@Mike...that article is for Server 2008.  Asker is talking about Server 2012 R2.

netdom also works in 2012 for the rename, KB is still good.

Thanks
