AD Backup Replication issue or not?

I can not figure out if I have an AD backup problem or not. Can somebody help me determine if the output from the following command

repadmin /showbackup

looks all right or not. The "Org.Time/Date" is what concerns me because it says 2013-07-11 in that column. However when I force backup replications using

repadmin /syncall /APeD

all looks fine. The AD Replication Status Tool reports no issues either. I have also attached a screen shot of an error message in event viewer saying that backups aren't occurring....

What am I missing here? That date bothers me......

Output from commands above

C:\Windows\system32>repadmin /syncall /APeD

This is not a replication issue. Windows warns you that your AD was not backed up.

Make sure the system state of the domain controller is included.

What backup software are you using to backup your domain controller(s)?

I thought by having multiple domain controllers and replication working between the domain controllers, a backup of a domain controller was moot and unnecessary. Apparently, my line of thought was wrong?

Just take system state backup for your PDC server. Rest not required. Frequency depends on your business requirement, I have seen even four time backups with some of my customer.

Apart from backup, multiple domain controller is the way to reach high availability. Minimum two DC per site will provide you HA.

Finally, take benefit of recycle bin option. That is one best feature given by Microsoft, however make sure your Domain functional level is 2008 R2.

Let me know, if you have any further query.

Hey Amit, thanks for the advice. What is the recycle bin option you're referencing? Don't know anything about that.

Why is the timestamp July 11, 2013 for the repadmin /showbackup though?

AmitIT ArchitectCommented:
Recycle Bin In AD is similar to  your recycle bin in your local machine. Here your ID or objects are moved to recycle bin and help you to restore to old state. Which was earlier not available.

This is the last time the system state of the DC was backed up. I would suggest running a backup even using Windows Backup if you have to and run a System State backup ASAP.
