Citrix XenApp deployment

hi guys,

we are looking into deploying Citrix XenAPp for a few basic apps. It will be hosted internally.

What do we need to get started?

Also, how do users access the system?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would go with 7.6. How many users and applications total?
Cobra25Author Commented:
50 users maybe 3-4 apps to start.

How many physical servers would i need?

The clients connect via the Receiver correct?
Carl WebsterCitrix Technology Professional - FellowCommented:
if you do not need redundantcy, you can by with 4 servers.

1 studio/controller using sql server express
1 storefront
2 xenapp servers

none of these need to be physical. they can all be vms. if vms, then you would have 1 xenapp server and use mcs to create the number of xenapp servers you need.

users would access the apps using storefront.

Thanks Carl!

Looks like they've renamed a lot of items here for the newer version of Citrix.

For XenApp/XenDesktop 7.6:

Collector = Controller
AppCenter (Delivery Services Console)  = Studio
EdgeSight = kinda sorta maybe Director
Web Interface = StoreFront
Online Plugin = Receiver
PNAgent = Services Site

Why did you specify physical?
