Yammer - Office365

Morning,

I'm currently implementing Office 365 - Hybrid Exchange config. I've piloted 25 mailboxes to Exchange Online, working fine.
Marketing department need to make use of Yammer and they're not yet migrated to O365. I'm using DirSync with password to Office365, which means all my AD user objects are there. I'm trying to to do the Yammer DirSync of a specific OU and the "globalsettings.config" file does not retain my settings. the reason why I'm trying to do a specific OU, is because I don't want to sync all my users in case they all get the Welcome to yammer email. Anybody with Office 365 and Yammer experience, highly appreciated.
Thanks
Derrick

so you have dirsync with password sync to office 365 (i.e. all ad user objects is Azure AD).
you have a hybrid exchange deployment which only 25 mailbox migrated to Exchange online (congratulations on that!)
so to simply the use is to assign the licence to the right users.
Once you assign the licence, then the user will able to access the yammer services.

you don't really need their mailbox to be in office 365 to utilise any services (for example, skype for business, yammer, onedrive for business and etc)

Hi limjianan,

That part I'm familiar with. In Yammer you have the option to sync your users as well, there's a Yammer DirSync tool the same as DirSync tool.
It syncs the entire domain or you can specify a specific OU. Which I want to do.
My problem is, I don't want to sync all these users and have each one of them receiving a "Welcome to Yammer" email to sign-up. They should be in the Network, but have the option to sign-up whenever they feel like it. Logon to the Portal and choose Yammer.
This Welcome email - I want to disable it as soon as I sync the users.
Does that make sense?
