How do i restore a mailbox folder in Exchange Online?

A user mistakenly deleted all email in a subfolder of his inbox. The user does not know when the email was deleted, just that the subfolder is empty now. Litigation hold is enabled. How can I restore the specific folder from a specific date? I do not want to restore the entire mailbox.

thank you

I need to restore messages that were in a specific folder, nothing more. EAC eDiscovery does not give me that option and, as described in my question,  I am running Exchange Online, not Exchange 2010.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to restore messages from a specific subfolder in Exchange Online? Not the entire mailbox, just a specific folder.

thank you
I need to be able to recover emails based on the folder they were in. Example: I have a folder named OldEmail. The emails in this folder were deleted. They are not in the deleted items folder nor are they in the dumpster.

The folder that they were in is the only thing that these emails have in common.

How can I tell Exchange Online to restore the contents of a mailbox folder from a specific date?
