How to automatically Rollback an image of workstation

We have 2 machines that we want to automate rollback any changes that have been made to the machine from when the person logs on to the time they logoff.  This includes data as well as any OS changes.

The roll back needs to be seamless so that no one has to be involved except to set it up.  I don't know if that means that updated images have to be applied as time goes on, if so then that's OK.

This is on a Windows 8 machine

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With Microsoft's free product Steadystate now discontinued for more than 4 years you might want to look at commercial products like Faronics DeepFreeze or Horizon's Drive Vaccine.  You might want to consider a background admin account to push updates (system, AV etc) which are not rolled back.

A hypervisor would allow rollbacks easily if it suits you to work on a virtual machine.
