Unable to copy down formula in excel
I have the following formula:
=LEFT(B2,FIND(" ",B2,1)-1)
WIth other formulas I create, I am able to drag the formula down the column with the plus at the lower left of the cell, and the B2 changes to B3, B4, etc.
However, this formula does not do this.
Suggestions are appreciated.

Unfortunately, this is not happening, I have tried both ways - dragging and copying.
Hi
I think the problem is not with the formula but the way you might be dragging it. So try putting the same formula in the cells where are you able to do drag other formulas and try it out and if still have an issue attach your xls and I will help you out.

Can you post your sample file so that i can have a look..
Hi
If you cannot copy or drag then it is to do with those cells being protected. Check if those cells are protected and unprotect them.
Go to Review tab on top, high light the formula cell and see if it has select locked cells and select unlocked cells ticked. If not just select both of them and that should do

Please find a sample attached - I tried the review tab and could not find an issue. The first names have been changed for identity.

Thank you - the issue was making it automatic. Much appreciated.
You are welcome..Always Happy to Help.. :-)
Other way to do this is copy the formula... Select your cells where you want to paste and then do ctrl+v it will autofill the number of rows with your formula too..
