Delph 7 Apps Migration to Current Win 8

I have been using Delphi 7 on Win XP for a long time now. I feel like it's time to throw in the towel and move up to a current OS but, I am dreading the thought of having to rewrite all of the apps I've written in D7. Can anyone point me in a relatively painless direction? Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I can tell that my D6 apps works quite good on win 7 or 8. So, should yours if you don't use something non compatible ... Install D7 on win 8 and test your apps .... Probably will look "old"  but may work.
Sometimes BDE can be hard to setup.
This MS page shows that D7 is not compatible with win8 but some reg fix can help.
Blog with some info: delphi-6-on-windows-8-1
and this one too.
