I want this file to save and clear the data and finally save it in my documents folder. However, when I run the SaveWithNewName macro it gets the 400 error.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

it seems that you got permission issue to save the file into C:\ drive. Hence, you probably need to save the file into a subfolder under C:\ drive instead? like:

NewFN = "C:\Inv" & Range("E8").Value & ".xlsx"

Open in new window

NewFN = "C:\newFolder\Inv" & Range("E8").Value & ".xlsx"

Open in new window

Sub SaveInvWithNewName()
Dim NewFN As Variant
' Copy invoice to a new workbook
NewFN = "C:\Inv\" & Range("E8").Value & ".xlsx"
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs NewFN, FileFormat:=xlOpenXMLWorkbook
