synchronize SQL Server database

Hi,

I have a routine to sync  MS SQL databases, between the server and some workstations. It works well but is a bit slow.  I need a component  for visual studio (preferably) or an application an affordable cost to make this process.

best regards

to sync the structure or the data?

I am aware that Red-Gate (http://www.red-gate.com/products/) has some tools but I don't know to which extent that would helped you!

Isn't a simple backup/restore would be enough?

How are you sync the databases?
MSSQL has a native replication solution and that can help you.

Hi,

With  .net code. I have a server SQL Server Standard and workstations with SqlServer Express. I don´t know if replication Works in sqlserver express, however I wanted something that was parameterized within the application.

best regards

SQL Server Express databases can participate in Replication as Subscribers only.
If you are coding the sync process then you should first look for possible bottlenecks (memory, disks, network, indexes, queries, ...).
Isn't easy and will take time to you find the main bottleneck but without that you can't work in a solution.
Use SQL Profiler to check the queries and Performance Monitor to check the system.
