Drop Down List With Filter Performance Problems in Internet Explorer

I have a Drop Down List that allows me to type text so that I can filter my record that works great in Firefox.  The moment you click on the control, the records drop down and are displayed immediately in Firefox.  However, when using Internet Explorer 10, there is literally a 20-30 second delay until the records are paged into the control.  Why is there such a difference in performance?  What can I do to fix this problem?  Thank you!

IE 10 was pretty bad with performance.  You might be better off doing the filtering in javascript and not doing a rebind.  IE 11 has fixed a lot of those issues.  I would say upgrade to IE11, if possible.

Is there a way to bypass the performance issues with IE 10?

Like I said, take advantage of javascript or upgrade.  IE 10 is pretty out of date.
