Best way to setup IIS failover to remote datacenter?

I need to setup IIS failover to a remote data center in case of an emergency.

We will be connected to the remote data center with a site to site connection.

What's the best way to set this up? Failover cluster? NLB (probably not) or something like simplefailover.com?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would be looking at one of the cloud based load balancers, or something like CloudFare to deal with the failover for you. That product you have linked to I wouldn't want to use at all, as it seems to just want to change the DNS records. The problem with that is it can take hours before a change is seen by the internet fully, with caching going on. Using a proper load balancing service will do the job much better because the IP address the client connects to doesn't change.

Presuming here that you have dealt with replicating the data to the second location.

Simon.
