How do I create a 'saving data' dialog using jQuery?

I need to create a modal that alerts my user that data is being saved, so that they are aware of it while they are waiting. It needs to show upon the clicking of a save button, and then exit and return control back to the user when the save is done, how do I do this? I'm open to other method of accomplishing this for my web application as well.

It is customizable. Bootstrap also uses jquery so you could utilize their modals and loading UI themes as well.

Jessica, this seems pretty straight forward, which I like. How do I apply it to the clicking of a particular button?

With say bootstrap. Onclick="#myModal"
Create myModal as a div.
Bootstrap is great with that. I've used it several times with different kinds of styles.
