Setting YEAR in MYSQL table

I am trying to set a column current_yr to show the current year date by default  ... eg 2015 .

Attached is an image of the settings I am using.  This setting however only results in default 0000 appearing in all rows of the table.

Can someone give me the correct setting to achieve this ?

many thanks

The image you show is the column definition, not the data.  You need to do an UPDATE to set the actual year.
UPDATE `mytable` SET `current_yr` = '2015'

That will set all rows to '2015'.
