MS Access Report - Address

Hi Experts,

I have this in Access:
[Address1] & [Address2] & [City] & [State] & [ZipCode] & [Country]

And I take them from a SP.

But none check for blanks in the fields, so I would need some Format to check for Nulls or blanks ?
Address1 = 999 Smith Street
Address2 = Blank
City = Washington
State = DC
ZipCode = 99999
Country = USA
Address1 = 999 Smith Street
Address2 = Blank
City = Blank
State = Blank
ZipCode = 99999
Country = DE

Please help and thanks...

You can use Nz to handle null values:

Nz([Address1],"") & Nz([Address2],"") & etc etc

Since you are concatenating using the &, you wouldn't have to worry about nulls.  However, you are not including any spaces to separate the columns.  Once you add those, you will need to worry about nulls.  So the solution is a combination of & and +.

([Address1] + " ") & ([Address2] + " ") & ([City] + ", " & ([State] + " ") & ([ZipCode] + " ") & [Country]

This should handle any null field but if city is present and state is missing, you'll end up with a comma and space following city so you could make this smarter if you want to but you'll need to use IIf()'s
