Can anyone tell me the amount of data Acrobat and Flash pass to check for updates?  And is there a way I can force the check to off hours?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

the amount of data is very small.. it adds and event into the task scheduler which you can edit.

then disable the check for updates on all clients.. download it once and then push it to the clients.

Consider using NiNite - $20/month allows updates to up to 100 client systems.  It downloads updates to the system it's run on and pushes them out to ALL systems, minimizing internet usage.  And it can update ALL 70 in 5 minutes most days (depending on hour frequently you run it and how many of the over 100 apps it supports need updating).

Also, for Windows Updates, run a WSUS (Windows Server Update Server) - you can configure all systems to get their updates from one local server you run that downloads the updates for everyone.
