This solution is only available to members.
To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
Have you follow these steps: https://www.qnap.com/i/en/trade_teach/con_show.php?op=showone&cid=26
Have you check if the paths are ok?
is the port is ok?
Other Solution
Install Joomla and everything you need on another webserver this could be wampserver or online server then move the entire installation to QNAP.

Hi,
The path is maybe too long...
Verify the folder Chmod incase (maybe not enough permission to write).
Is the extension is compatible with this Joomla version?
(sometimes we need to unzip the package prior to install, a zip is in a zip)
The are good troubleshoothing on this site it is for a specific extension but can be applied to other extension as well.

Which extension are you trying to install?
You may need to make a manual install.

but I did change the permission for tmp
still get error...
The Joomla temporary directory is not writeable by the Joomla! instance, or may not exist, which may cause issues when attempting to upload extensions to Joomla! If you are having issues uploading extensions, make sure the directory defined in your configuration.php exists or check the '../tmp' and set it to be writeable and see if this fixes the issue.
