share Gmail label/folder

I am working in a company that wants to continue using Gmail and start sharing email folders. What is the best way to set up some sort of shared/public folders?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Google does not allow you to partially share Google accounts across the enterprise. You either need to share the entire account or none of the account.

That said, the functionality you are looking for seems to be available through some third party apps.
Check out either grexit.com or squadmail.com. Both products should do what you are looking to accomplish within your company.

thank you. A shame there isn't something open source. All these x per month plans add up.

I hope this helped. I agree that Google should figure it out for Enterprise customers. We are on Google Apps and it would be nice to use this exact feature.

Good luck!

yep. I used to use Thunderbird with IMAP and shared folders worked amazing. Problem is Tbird isn't mobile and everyonoe is so used to Gmail.
