PST File - Outlook Inbox Repair Tool can't repair

We recently enabled folder redirection for a few staff members. After their PST file is migrated to the network share, Outlook can't read it. When we run the Outlook Inbox Repair Tool. We get this error: This data file appears to have been created using a newer version of Microsoft Outlook that this Inbox Repair Tool does not support.

The Office version has not changed on these machines - they are running Office 2013. SCANPST is being ran from these machines as well.

Does anyone have a solution?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I did. Same error.

I also logged in a local user - created a new outlook profile - and tried to attach the PST. Still get an error.

PST file is not designed for network sharing, which will cause corruption easily. See:

https://www.datanumen.com/articles/prevent-pst-corruption.htm

As for your case, you'd better to use a third-party tool to repair your PST file, then stop sharing the PST file on network. Below is a list of the tools:

Most of them provide a free trial so you can try before you buy.

You should use the latest version of "Scanpst.exe (Inbox Repair Tool)” as you have moved from old version to new.  You can see the similar thread by following the given link:
