SCCM - Creating user collections from a text file

Hi guys, I hope you are well.
We are using SCCM 2012, and wish to create a user-based collection from a text file of users.
Is this possible, and if so, how and where would you do this?
Thanks in advance everyone.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You cannot do this directly in the SCCM UI.

If you have SQL knowledge you can create an update query to import the data you are looking for.

I would think that leveraging AD would be the better and more efficient method

Create a AD group with all the users you want (use Powershell to read the text file and add the users to the group) then have CM query that group.
