Which version are you using?

SQL server 2008 \r2 -- you can set media password or backup set password.

SQL server 2012 -- Mediapassword and password option has been discontinued.

SQL server 2014 --- Backup encryption with master key and certificate. (supported in Standard and Enterprise)

Other option.

You can take Normal backup and make it password protected using WINRAR or 7Zip compression tool.

Please use complete sentences to describe what you would like to do. That would make answering a lot easier.

Do you want to encrypt the database or the backups only?
MohitPanditAuthor Commented:
I would like to encrypt database also.

But for now, I am going for encrypt backups only so that once it will travel on network to copy from one location to other then it should be encrypted.
Also, as backup will be encrypted then while restore encryption key/certificate requires.

You can't encrypt a backup in MSSQL 2012. At least with SQL Server functionalities.
If you are using any 3rd party software for backups you need to check if the software allows encryption.
You can also use an encryption tool to encrypt the backup file.
