You have a damage QuickBooks file.

Make sure you have a valid backup of the company file - then:

1.On your keyboard, press Windows  +  E to open the Computer window.

2.Click Uninstall or change a program.

3.Select QuickBooks.

4.Once QuickBooks is selected, click Uninstall/Change.

5.In the QuickBooks Installation window, click Next, select the Repair radio button, click Next, click Repair.

6.Click Finish. Your installation of QuickBooks should now be repaired.

7 Restart your system and then open QuickBooks and see how it responds.

First, make sure you have a local copy of the Company File on the computer you did the QuickBooks repair. If QuickBooks is only on one computer, make a backup copy of the database.

From the above instructions, can you open QuickBooks?  Yes / No.

If yes, open the local (backup) copy of the Company file (do not use Recent).

Now select File, Utilities, and do a rebuild of the Company File. This will repair the database.

Now move the repaired database back to the company file location.

The quickbooks database lives on a linux server and is used in multi user mode. There are 4 computers using the files but only one of the has this error! I can go through the repair process but would it make sense that only one of the computers has the problem.
10 Tips to Protect Your Business from Ransomware

If you have the QuickBooks file on a server and 3 computers run the QB program and use the database properly, then the database is probably fine and you have a problem computer.

You can try the database repair function on a good computer. Make a local copy of the database and run the rebuild as I suggested and put the repaired file back. This is good database practice on a somewhat regular basis but won't likely solve the bad computer problem.

On the problem computer, uninstall QuickBooks completely. Restart and run System File Checker (SFC /SCANNOW). Restart after SFC and Install and Patch QuickBooks. Now try running QB on the problem computer.  Does it work?

As I noted above, you need to repair the QB installation files on the problem computer. This has nothing to do with the data files on the server.

If a Repair does not work (it does not always), you need to reinstall QuickBooks.
