Linux box being SSHed remotely?

Good morning. I'm trying to debug a process that connects via SSH remotely to a computer and then does some stuff. The problem I'm facing is trying to discover whether the remote machine is being able to contact my server. What I'd like to see is if I can monitor the incoming activity to my host via SSH port, somehow. Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can check  /var/log/auth.log for log-in activity, you can use "watch who" to see incoming sessions, use netstat to see open/connected ports...

If you want to watch what a user is doing via ssh you could take a look at the program screen using multiuser

If there's a certain program being started or process used, you can use "ps -ef" to check if it's active.
That's good from the server end, but netstat etc. will only show once a connection has been established.

From the client, try `ssh -vvv yourserver` to see if it can resolve the address and route correctly
