can not send messages between two phones

I can not send sms between tmobile iphone 5 and boost mobile galaxy 3

I can call

This has been going on for months. I am unsure if any messages ever were sent between the phones

I do not know of other phones where there is such a block

So we would need to search to see if android galaxy 3 or iphone 5 has a block

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When you send a text message from the iPhone to the galaxy 3 is it using iMessage through your internet connection?  If iMessage is turned on, your iPhone might be trying to use your icloud account to send the text messages instead of using SMS texts.  Instead of a cell phone number, I found out this was happening to me when I was messaging people because they were like "Who is 'johndoe@icloud.com trying to text me" because iMessage was turned on and using my icloud account.

Simply put, iMessage is beneficial for iPhone to iPhone users and the text dialog bubble is blue.  When the text dialog bubble is green they are typically using SMS texts.
See this and this for more information.  It should answer a lot of the questions about this problem you're having.

Let me know if I may help with anything else.

I recommend you contact T Mobile.  It sounds like the cell phone providers are not communicating with each other.

We called both cell providers (tmobile and boost mobile) and they have no answer.

What settings on the devices are doing this

Could you ask android and iphone experts if a setting on either os could block sms from one and only one phone number.

how are you texting?  Are you using the contact or texting directly to a phone number?

Can both mobiles receive text messages from other mobile phones or are there are issues with other mobiles too (or have you not tried this yet)?

phone number is saved on both phones
so even if I type in phone number, still recognizes as saved contact

yes. From every other number in both phones

Have you tried sending a text to the other phone's email (phone#@servicesupplier, ie 9995551212@myserviceprovider.com)?

device to device only problem. These messages work

new details: tmobile is now iphone 6 (not iphone 5 anymore) and can receive messages
android samsung galaxy 3 boost mobile does not receive messages so I deleted contact and deleted sms messages

so now the message thread
on the iphone 6 is complete 2 person conversation
on the android just looks like I am talking to myself

What happens when you boot into safe mode on the s3?

If you can receive messages, then you have a third party app interfering.

Turn off your phone.

Press the power button until you see the logo appear on screen then release

When you see the logo, hold down the "Volume Down" button until you phone fully boots.  It should say "safe mode" in the bottom left.

I finally figured out safe mode

But android can not receive sms from this phone number (now using another iphone)

I tried wifi on and off

Can you confirm that it is the phone or the sim?

Not sure what it's like in your country but in Australia we can move sims between phones if they are either on the same network or the other phone is unlocked.

In other words, try the sim from the android in another phone and see if you can send an sms to the iphone in question.  If you can then it's an app or setting on the original android phone, if you can't then it's the cell phone provider's network

What's the model of the Android phone? Sounds like it's a cheap phone?

samsung galaxy s3

receives every other sms (i think) for the course of 1 year

except this one phone number which has rotated iphone models.

I'm typing this to you on a S3 so I know you can get the SIM out if it.
See this video on how to do that.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DJXyM5Oz8OE

It really sounds like you've blocked the number but you also want to rule out a problem with the network
