Configure temporary 10 member Mac user workgroup to a Gigabit switch at the end of a 100ft Cat6 cable

We need to pull new cable for 10 member Mac user team. They are currently connected to an old patch panel wired with very old, low quality ethernet cable. We are going to move them to a 24 port unmanaged GB switch at the end of a 100ft Cat6 cable plugged into our main office managed GB switch. These users all edit Adobe Illustrator documents off of a OS X server connected to the main switch. Any suggestions on configuring the main switch or the workstations to enhance speed or stability?

Thank you

If the switch to which workstations will be connected is unmanaged, I am unclear what you are asking. A better option would be to use a managed  switch with LAG two port to two port bind.
It might be possible to use the existing old wires to combine and increase the bandwidth.

What is the current speed those lines carry.. Speedtest.net has a mini-version that could be locally used to test speed pergormance.
If the 100FT has not been run, optical might be costlier but better performance  or run multiple at the same time to cover a failure, though running along the same path,..........
