Powershell Script unhide excel process

For some reason a program is causing some of my excel files to disappear but I can see they are still running in the process window.  Does anyone have a powershell script that would bring the excel files back to a visible state.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This can happen if PowerShell (or other apps) is not disassociating all references to Excel properly after being finished. Sadly, the only action you can take AFAIK is to kill the Excel processes. PowerShell is not able to access an existing Excel instance not created by the script itself (and still having a reference in a var).
