Sharepoint on client network - Can I be granted a limited remote view

I suspect the answer to this is "yes"!

I know very little about sharepoint.  I develop in Microsoft Access.

A client of mine uses sharepoint.

QUESTION: Is it easy for the client to give me remote access to a "folder" (?) within sharepoint so that I can change my database.  I do not want access to the entire network.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It will depend on the version of SharePoint that your client is using, for a fundamental knowledge you can follow the below article.

Please note the version numbers and the functionality difference in different versions,

Let me explain (and rephrase) my question...

I have developed an Access database (without realising that my client used sharepoint).

My requirement is to be able to use my database - I don't care about sharepoint but it may be an obstacle??
I do not want to make change to my database if at all possible.  I don't need/want a sharepoint environment.

Have I a problem or will I be able to use my database without modifying it for sharepoint.
