Combining date and time data from two fields into a single DateTime2 data field

I'm pulling data from a legacy SQL Server transactional database into a SQL Server reporting database.  In the legacy system, many of the tables have fields:

UserDateStamp (DateTime, Null)
UserTimeStamp (char(8), NULL)

All of the records which have at least one of these values have both, but I would like to combine them in a query into a value which can be inserted into a DateTime2 data field.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think it should be as easy as:

ISNULL(UserDateStamp, '19000101') + ISNULL(CAST(UserTimeStamp AS time), '00:00')
